Is PawsPet free? How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

Yes: PawsPet is free for pet owners, with no subscription. You only pay for the services you choose to book: paying in the app adds a €1 service fee (1% above €100), always shown before you confirm. The AI features use monthly credits that are included.

Can I use PawsPet on my computer?

Accepted Answer

Yes: at app.pawspet.it, with the same account as the app. On your computer you find your pets, health records, calendar and the Copilot; recording outings with GPS is phone-only.

Does it work for cats, horses, rabbits and other animals?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every pet gets its own profile: a dog and a cat under one roof, but also horses, donkeys, rabbits, rodents, birds, reptiles, turtles, fish, farm animals and an «Other» option for everything else. The «Pets» tab lists them all with search, filters and an alphabetical index.

Will it alert me when a vaccine is due?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you set the alert: in the vaccine form you tap «Set alert» and choose when. Without an alert no notification arrives, but the due date stays visible in the app.

Does the AI assistant make diagnoses?

Accepted Answer

No. The AI assistant answers from the data you record and prepares entries that you confirm, but for health it always refers you to your vet.

Does the digital pet profile replace official microchip registration or the booklet?

Accepted Answer

No. The profile is your personal record: the microchip registration stays with the official database, and the health booklet or passport remain the official documents. On PawsPet you note the numbers to have them with you, and you can upload photos or PDFs of the documents in the Documents strip of the Anagraphic tab.

Can I manage several pets, even of different species?

Yes. Each pet has its own profile and the Pets list shows them all, as a list or a grid, with search by name, species, breed, colour or place and an alphabetical index for long lists. The available species range from dog to fish, with Other for anything missing.

Question 8

Can I add a pet without entering the microchip number?

Accepted Answer

Yes: in the app the microchip number is an optional field, like the health booklet and the stable number. If it is missing, the Recommended strip lists it among the things to complete for dogs, cats, horses, ponies, donkeys and rabbits. The legal duty to identify a dog stays as the law sets it: PawsPet does not replace it.

How does breed recognition from the photo work?

If you upload a photo in the first step, the Species step shows a suggestion like it looks like a Labrador dog, with a confidence level in words. Species and breed are pre-selected, but you can change them or pick one of the other guesses. It needs a connection, AI features switched on (Profile, then AI Features) and a recognition quota that is not used up.

Can I add a pet without a photo or without a connection?

Yes. In the first step tap Skip the photo and carry on: you can add one later from the profile with Edit images. Without a network the profile is saved anyway and sent as soon as you are back online, without blocking the app.

Does the digital health record have legal value?

Accepted Answer

No: it is your personal archive. It does not replace the booklet or passport issued by the vet or the health authority, nor the vet: it helps you find dates, values and reports when you need them.

How do I get the AI to read a vet report?

Accepted Answer

In «Health» tap «+» and then «Analyse report with AI»: upload up to 5 files at a time, PDF, JPG or PNG up to 20 MB, review the proposed entries and create only the ones you tick. You need a connection and AI features on; it uses the monthly AI credits, which cover a few files an hour.

Can I export the health record as a PDF?

Accepted Answer

Not today: PawsPet does not create a PDF of the record. You can show the profile on your phone, send the read-only link or give your vet access as a collaborator.

Question 14

Where do I log and see my cat's weight?

Accepted Answer

In the «Measurements» tab of the cat's profile: one measurement a day, logged for today or yesterday, with the chart and the history. Under 1 kg the weight shows in grams.

Can I share the health record with my vet?

Accepted Answer

Yes: with the read-only link, which shows the basic details and a health summary, or by inviting the vet as a collaborator with «View» on Health. You switch the link off whenever you like.

How do I get a reminder for my dog's vaccine?

Accepted Answer

In the vaccine form tap «Set alert» and choose when: at the time, 10 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week or 1 month before, or a lead time of your own. For every date involved, dose, booster or expiry, a notification arrives.

Why didn't I get the notification?

Accepted Answer

Usually because no alert was chosen: without «Set alert» no notification is sent. Also check that PawsPet notifications are enabled on your phone; for entries with a date only, the lead time counts from 9:00.

How often is the booster due?

Accepted Answer

Your vet decides, depending on the vaccine and your pet. PawsPet records the dates you are given and, if you want, alerts you: it does not set the vaccination schedule.

Can I get a reminder for the parasite treatment every month?

Accepted Answer

Yes: record it as a «Recurrent» therapy and turn on «Create to-dos in activities». Every dose becomes an entry to tick off in the calendar; if you also want a notification, set the alert.

Does the app alert me on its own?

Accepted Answer

No: only the alerts you choose arrive. Due dates still stay visible in the app, though: the vaccine turns yellow in the last week and red once it has expired, and the date shows in the calendar.

Does the dog's passport expire?

Accepted Answer

The European pet passport has no expiry date: the vaccinations and treatments written in it expire, such as the rabies shot. In PawsPet you record the vaccine with its expiry date under Health and put an expiry date on the documents that really expire.

Can I keep the passport on my phone only?

Accepted Answer

No: in PawsPet you keep a copy that is handy to show. For travel and checks you need the original passport.

Who can see my dog's documents?

Accepted Answer

You and the collaborators you give «View» or «Edit» on «Documents»; by default nobody else. The read-only link never shows the documents.

Does the app read the data from the scan?

Accepted Answer

No: you type the number, issuer and dates yourself. The scans stay attached to the document, in order. Reading vet reports is a different feature, «Analyse report with AI» under Health.

Which documents can I upload?

Accepted Answer

Passport, health booklet, certificate, award, insurance, pedigree, adoption, microchip registration and other, as PDF, JPG, PNG, HEIC or WEBP. A pet has only one passport.

The dog belongs to two people: how does co-ownership work in the app?

Accepted Answer

In the app there is always one owner. You give the other person «Full access»: they see and edit everything, documents included, invite other collaborators and manage their permissions. Deleting the dog stays with the owner only.

Can a family member mark today's walk or pill as done?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with «Edit» on Activities. In the «Activities» tab they tap the empty circle next to today's row, or open it and tap «Complete»: the circle turns green. It works for repeated activities; for recurring diets and treatments they also need «Edit» on Health. Not for a one-off activity, a vaccine or an order. It also works offline.

Does a collaborator see the documents too?

Accepted Answer

Only if you allow it: by default a new collaborator starts with «View» on Health only. In the permissions you can also open «Documents», read-only or with editing.

How do I remove access from someone who no longer looks after the pet?

Accepted Answer

Open the pet, ⋮ icon, «Collaborators»: tap the remove icon on their row and confirm. It takes effect immediately: if that person tries to open the profile, they read «The owner has stopped sharing this animal». No access expires on its own: you remove it when you need to.

Can I invite someone who doesn't have the app?

As a collaborator they need a PawsPet account: send them the invitation from «Profile» » «Invite friends» and, once they have signed up, add them from «Collaborators». Meanwhile there is the read-only link to the profile, which you switch off whenever you like.

Is the link safe? Can I change it?

Accepted Answer

Anyone with the link sees the profile read-only, so only send it to the people who need it. You switch it off whenever you like with «Disable sharing»; if you switch it back on, the same link works again: it is not regenerated.

What does the dog sitter see with the link?

Accepted Answer

Photo, name, breed, sex, birth date, weight, microchip, colour and location, if you entered them, and a health summary. They see no documents or collaborators and cannot edit anything.

Can I invite my vet as a collaborator?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if they have a PawsPet account: search for them by name or email and choose the permissions, for example «View» on Health without «Edit». Access stays until you remove it.

Can the professional edit my pet's profile?

Never from the link. If they use PawsPet Business, they record their data in their own record and you see it under «Recorded by professionals», read-only; they see your pet's health record only if you tick the box in the invitation.

Do I have to give consent to share?

Yes for the link, for collaborators and for the professional's invitation: you turn them on. When you book a service on PawsPet, the professional sees the pet's profile for the duration of the service.

How do I keep a diary of my dog's activities?

In the «Activities» tab tap «+»: choose the type, the only required field, then the pet, the date and the time. Activities stay in the calendar, and those recorded with GPS keep the route too.

How do I repeat an activity every week?

In the form tap «Repeat», choose «Every N weeks», the days and until when: the sentence at the top tells you how it will go.

How do I mark a treatment as done?

If the treatment is «Recurrent» with «Create to-dos in activities», every dose appears in the calendar with its circle: tap it and it turns green. If you made a mistake, «Restore».

Can I change a single date of a repeating activity?

When editing, choose «All in series» or «This and future», which needs a connection. To remove a single date use «Delete» and then «This one only».

Can I share the calendar with my family?

Yes: anyone with «View» or «Edit» on «Activities» sees the pet's calendar in their own app; with «Edit» they can also tick off what has been done.

Is Copilot free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it is included in the free app, with monthly AI credits: they renew on the first of the month and you see how many you have left by tapping the lightning-bolt pill. If they run out, the Copilot stops until the first of the month; the app and the profiles all stay usable by hand. Today you cannot buy extra credits.

Does Copilot make diagnoses?

No. It answers from the data you have recorded and gives general advice on diet and doses, but for health it always refers you to your vet.

What happens if I ask it to delete something?

It shows you a red card with «This cannot be undone» and the «Delete» button: it is deleted only if you tap it. A «yes» typed or spoken is not enough.

Can it book a service for me?

No: it searches services and shows you the free time slots, but you book and pay yourself. It does not create or change orders.

What data does the AI see, and how do I turn it off?

While the AI features are on, your pets' data goes to a third-party model to generate the answers. They cover the pets you own. You switch them all off from «Profile» » «AI Features».

What do I need to publish the listing?

A pet of your own, not deceased, with a 15-digit microchip and at least 60 days old, the health declaration and the truthfulness check. You publish with a connection, and a pet has one active listing at a time.

Can I sell a puppy with PawsPet?

No: as a private owner you can only offer an animal for adoption, free of charge. Sales are coming soon and are reserved for businesses with «Breeder verification» approved by the team.

People browsing pawspet.it. The listing shows the last 4 digits of the microchip and an area of about one kilometre, never your name or your contact details.

We are a shelter or an association: what do we do?

You can publish straight away as a private individual. To do it in your organisation's name you need a business profile, created the same way businesses do: «Become a merchant», in PawsPet Business or on your computer. You find the full path on the page for shelters and associations.

No recurring costs, no subscription and no monthly fee: calendar, clients, pet records, orders and statistics are free. On every transaction PawsPet keeps 10% of the price you set, Stripe fees included. A client who pays in the app adds a €1 service fee (1% above €100).

The thirteen categories of the business profile: pet sitting, grooming, training, boarding, veterinary practice, equestrian centre, farrier and trimming, breeder, pet shop, pet transport, pet photography, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, other. You choose a single category in the «General» step.

Do I need a separate account from PawsPet?

Accepted Answer

No: you sign in to PawsPet Business with the same account you use in PawsPet. You create the business profile with «Sign up your business» here on the website, in the web version at app.pawspet.it or in the PawsPet Business app. In the PawsPet app for owners, the «Become a merchant» card at the bottom of the «Services» tab leads to PawsPet Business.

Why does my shop not appear in searches?

Check that your profile is set to «Public» and that you have published at least one service, with the right address and area: people searching see professionals close to the place they chose. The «Activate your shop» box on the «Dashboard» guides you through the steps, including Stripe verification for card payments. Still missing? Message us on WhatsApp.

Question 55

When does the money reach my bank account?

Accepted Answer

When the client pays in the app, the card is usually charged when you accept; if the order stays on «Pre-authorized payment», tap «Collect payment». The net amount reaches your Stripe account once the client confirms, or automatically 7 days after «Mark as delivered». Stripe then transfers it to your bank account: balance and transfers are in «Payouts».

Is the calendar free even if I do not sell on PawsPet?

Accepted Answer

Yes: calendar, clients and pet records are free even if you do not sell services on PawsPet. No recurring costs, just 10% per transaction, on the prices you set.

Can I log clients who call me on the phone?

Accepted Answer

Yes: with «+» you create the appointment with client, pets and service, even for people who use no app. The duration fills in from your price list, and you can create the client on the spot with just a name.

Do PawsPet orders show up by themselves?

Accepted Answer

Yes: orders with a time slot appear as soon as they arrive, including those still to be accepted, in the colour of their stage. You open them from the calendar and handle them from «Orders».

Question 59

How do I mark holidays and closures so nobody can book me?

Accepted Answer

«Agenda» tab » top-left menu » «Closing hours» » «Block time»: switch on «All day», set the dates, add a reason if you like and tap «Block». During that interval you receive no bookings from the marketplace and the block appears as a grey dashed slot in the calendar. Delete it whenever you want from the same list or by tapping it.

Does the calendar warn me if I book two appointments at the same time?

Yes. After saving, an «It overlaps» notice lists what the appointment collides with: another appointment, an order with a fixed time or a closure. The appointment stays saved and you dismiss the notice with «Keep anyway»: it is up to you to change it with «Edit».

How much does it cost to receive online bookings?

Accepted Answer

No recurring costs, no subscription and no monthly fee. On every transaction PawsPet keeps 10% of the price you set, which you see in each order's detail under «Your earnings», next to the net amount you receive. The money reaches your Stripe account when the client confirms the service, or automatically 7 days after «Mark as delivered».

Can I decide how many minutes apart booking slots open?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In the Profile tab open Working hours and choose the slot interval: 10, 15, 20, 30 or 60 minutes (the default is 30). If one service needs a different rhythm, in its form, Working hours step, set a slot interval for that service only. Appointment duration and break are set on the option instead.

Can I charge per pet, per hour or per day?

Yes, with the option's price type. Per pet creates one order line for each pet the client selects and lets you set which species are allowed. With hourly and daily pricing, for example for boarding, the client picks a start and an end. Monthly and yearly ask how many units they want, not dates. Custom is information only: it cannot be booked in the app.

How do I mark holidays so nobody books on those days?

In the Agenda tab open the menu, then Closing hours and Block time; turn on All day, set the dates and a reason if you like, then confirm. During that period you receive no bookings from the marketplace. For a short block, long-press a free time in the Day view. Tap a block to delete it.
